No.
This is one of the biggest myths about bed bugs.
Unlike lice, bed bugs don’t live on people.
They feed for a short time and then return to their hiding place.
Why don’t they stay on your body?
Your body isn’t a very good home for a bed bug.
You’re constantly moving.
You change position while sleeping.
You wash.
You get dressed.
Bed bugs prefer somewhere quiet and undisturbed where they can hide for most of the day.
So why do people think they’re in their hair?
Usually because the thought of bed bugs is incredibly unsettling.
It’s natural to become hyper-aware of every itch or tickle after discovering an infestation.
That doesn’t mean there are bed bugs crawling through your hair.
A question we hear quite often
People sometimes ask whether they should shave their head.
The answer is no.
The focus should always be on treating the infestation inside the property, not on trying to treat yourself for insects that aren’t living on you.
👨🔧 Andy’s Inspection Tip
If you’re worried about bed bugs, spend your energy inspecting the bed—not yourself.
That’s where you’ll solve the problem.
